MNMP 20th Anniversary Concert at Joe's Pub - Tuesday, 11/30/10
Dear Friends,
I serve on the board of the Manhattan New Music Project (MNMP), and you are invited to our 20th anniversary party on November 30th (6 PM) at Joe's Pub, which will include performances of:
- great jazz by Darcy James Argue's Secret Society (which some describe as a 'steampunk big band')
- Steve Reich's Vermont Counterpoint by Claire Chase, founder of the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), and
- compositions by Paul Nash (founder of MNMP) by our very own board member, Dave Taylor, one of the best trombone players in the world, having appeared and recorded with Duke Ellington, The Charles Mingus Big Band, The Rolling Stones, Blood Sweat and Tears, The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, Yo Yo Ma, Barbara Streisand, Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, Frank Sinatra, and Aretha Franklin.
On November 30th, we're holding a benefit concert at Joe's Pub to raise funds for performance and educational programs and to raise public awareness. Tickets are $40 for regular seating and $125 for Benefactor level that includes a post-concert, meet-the-artists event. Standing room is $15. Since Joe's Pub is an intimate venue, we're expecting a sellout, so I would suggest ordering early.
For tickets, go to http://tickets.publictheater.org/index.php?id=14254, scroll down and hit Login to login or create a new account.
Thanks,Daniel
